WINEMAKER NOTES
Puygueraud comes from the hands of the celebrated Thienpont family, who owns some of the most famous Bordeaux chteaux and make some of the most sought-after wines, including Vieux Chteau Certan, Le Pin and Pavie-Macquin. Chteau Puygueraud is considered the flagship estate of Ctes de Francs and a benchmark for this appellations revival. This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, from the great 2015 vintage, shows its pedigree. Fine aromatics of dark fruit and tobacco leaf are effortlessly underscored by gravelly tannins and a superbly long and dry finish classic Bordeaux. This is a serious wine and punches well above its weight.
94pts James Suckling
A dense and layered red that is tight and focused with blackberries, currants and blueberries. Pure. Full body, superfine tannins and a long finish. Sophisticated. Best ever.
