Winemaker Notes
Since 1960 the Tezza family has harvested from their estates vineyards in the Valpantena - between Verona and the Lessina Mountains - in what many locals call the valley of all of the gods. This crowd-pleasing red, a second label for the familys eponymously-named wines, is light- to medium-bodied and easy-going, but it possesses a compelling mix of strawberry, raspberry, and just a hint of smoky aromatics, along with an undercurrent of wild herbs. While many "regular" level Valpolicellas recently seem to try too hard to drink like a more full-bodied Ripasso, this one is a beautiful classic, being a fresh red thats lower (12.5%) in alcohol and super food-friendly. Certified organic too!
